Early Childhood Program
(Ages 3 - 5)
Experiences in the Early Childhood classrooms at Grandview emphasize growth in social interaction and allow the young child to progress through developmental milestones at an individual pace. Our teachers utilize interest centers, units, and theme topics in a combination of group instruction, individual instruction, and self-directed discovery. Through core academics and classes in art, music, dance, physical education, and language, the children experience a balance of play, discovery, manipulation, and participation to lay the foundation for lifelong learning.
Students in the Early Childhood program are flexibly grouped by ability in a blended-age format. Through this grouping, our teachers are able to monitor the development of each individual child based on developmental age rather than chronological age. This program is the perfect transition into our traditional Kindergarten classroom.
The Early Childhood program offers flexible drop off and pick up times to accommodate family schedules. Early Childhood students may be dropped off from 7:45 - 9:00 AM. Dismissal is between 2:30 - 2:45 PM. Extended Day, with a host of enrichment activities, is available for students until 5:30 PM.
