Private Arts Instruction

Grandview Private Arts Instruction


Grandview offers the opportunity for students to take private dance and/or private music lessons either during the school day or after school. The private art or dance lesson will be with Ms. Held and the private music lesson will be with Mrs. Furman or another instrumental music teacher on site at Grandview.

Lessons currently being offered:

  • Voice 
  • Dance (General technique, Jazz, Tap, Ballet/Pre Pointe/Pointe, Contemporary/Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Acrobatics)
  • Piano
  • Drums (Must bring own sticks)
  • Guitar (Must have own instrument)
  • Bass (Must have own instrument)
  • Art

There are limited slots available, so it is HIGHLY recommended that you fill out the registration form and review class policies and return it as soon as possible. Lessons are scheduled in the order the registration forms are received.

Our Instructors


Carrie Furman- Voice, Piano

Carrie is a graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in Jazz Vocal Performance. She has been working as a musician and music educator for over 25 years, with experience in live performances as well as studio work. She encourages her students to focus on vocal technique, songwriting, music theory and ear training while centering their learning in the genre of music with which the student feels most comfortable. This is Carrie’s 7th year at Grandview.

Stephanie Held- Dance (General technique, Jazz, Tap, Ballet/Pre Pointe/Pointe, Contemporary/Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Acrobatics) and Art

Stephanie has been dancing for over 30 years and teaching dance for 17 years. She has experience with children aged 2 and up and has worked with beginners to advanced dancers, with 5+ years working directly with special needs students. This is Stephanie’s 6th year at Grandview



Dominika Robe Popovska - Piano

Dominika Robe Popovska began playing piano at the age of five. She holds Bachelor and Master's degrees in piano performance from University of St. Cyril and Methodius, where she graduated first in her class. Dominika has taught students of all ages and levels of advancement in schools and her private studio.

Her students are the recipients of numerous awards and regularly receive the highest ratings in competitions and festivals. In addition to her private studio, she has worked at the Faculty of Music in Skopje and for the National Opera in North Macedonia as an accompanist and vocal coach.

Dominika performs in both solo and collaborative recitals and has numerous international awards. She was part of the prestige project "European Piano Reflections" organized in five countries: Poland, France, Moldova, North Macedonia and Austria. Dominika has performed as a solo and chamber musician widely across the U.S. and Europe.
