Why Grandview? Who are we and what do we believe?

I look back at the early days of our school history and I think about the families who believed in our vision. I see those same families at each landmark in our children’s lives; the spelling bees, the kindergarten graduations, and the sports banquets. When we gather in the Great Room I know that together we have built something special. We have done great things and experienced challenges. We have put our faith in each other and as a result our children will carry a piece of this place with them into the future.
Who are we? We believe that in order to learn something we must live it, an education is not a stepping-stone, it is life. Together we have created a place with small town values and big city vision - we take everything personally. We live outside of institutional limitations because we are creative thinkers defined by passion. Our success is not marked by quantity but quality. We hang our children’s artwork as though it is the rarest Renoir, we know each others names and we believe in our children above all else.
When asked, “Why Grandview?” our response is analogous to the reader who prefers the smaller independent bookstore to a larger commercial chain. . . It’s personal!
