The Grandview Preparatory School Program embraces the philosophy that learning should be fun. Our child-centered approach recognizes the varying developmental levels of children this age and incorporates activities appropriate for the individual child. Children in PreK 3 and PreK 4 participate in Spanish and PE.

The Lower School believes in the benefits of a classroom centered on a "learn by doing" philosophy. This philosophy ensures that the student acquire high-level skills rather than move through a fact-based curriculum. Students explore within a small, nurturing environment fully equipped with specially designed classrooms and a Lower School science and math laboratory as well as a computer laboratory. Our small class size and critical thinking focus enables students to become active thinkers and problem solvers.

Students experience dynamic, developmentally appropriate activities designed to challenge and inspire. Differentiated instruction insures that each student will progress according to his or her individual learning requirements. Along with a spiraling curriculum and authentic assessment, running records and traveling portfolios enable monitoring of each student's academic progress from year to year. Additionally, grandview embraces technology as a learning tool in the classroom. Classrooms are equipped with student computers, projectors, Educational WEB site access, United Streaming, SMART Boards and Renweb to enhance learning, teaching and communication.
