Grandview Association of Parents (GAP) is an inclusive organization which strives to improve the quality of campus life through providing programs, volunteers, activities, and fund-raising events, encourages participation and unity within the school community, and promotes cooperation in the education growth and development of the children.
Membership is automatic for all parents and/or guardians of Grandview students. GAP holds monthly meetings open to all parents. GAP is organized by a Board of Directors that are nominated and elected into office by Grandview parents. Below is a description of GAP Board Member positions:
President: Sets the agenda for meetings, mangages meetings, oversees GAP events and activities, and contacts all volunteers.
Vice President: Assists the President in overseeing all GAP events and activities.
Record Keeper: Prepares the minutes and maintains the GAP binder with Bylaws and meeting information records votes, and forms for requested funds.
Treasurer: Maintains the bank accounts and checkbook, balances the account, reports monthly statements for meetings; completes all deposits, check preparations, and cash withdrawals for approved spending.
VP of Lower School: Liaison between GAP and lower school. Communicates with LS families, organizes Bookfair and Halloween event, attends LS events.
VP of Middle School: Liaison between GAP and middle school. Communicates with MS families, organizes Celebration of Life event, attends MS events.
VP of Upper School: Liaison between GAP and upper school. Communicates with US families, maintains contact with student government. Organizes prom and graduation events, attends US events.
Athletic Chairman (2): Communicate with the athletic department, assist with team needs, assist with fundraising, attend games, help with ticket sales.
Admissions Ambassador: Welcomes new families and assists with tours.
Patron of Arts: Liaison between the art departments (vocal, dance, fine arts) and assists with arts events.
Historian/ Photographer: Takes pictures at events and maintains the front window. Head committee to provide photographers at GPS events, start apprenticeship for student to learn fundamentals of photography
Please note all GAP board members are required to attend all meetings.
