Founded: Grandview was founded in 1997 by Gene M. and Carolyn L. Ehlers to provide an engaging educational environment for students emphasizing strong values while using real world technologies.
Grade Levels: Grandview is an independent, non-sectarian, co-educational, college preparatory day school for grades PK3 -12.
Campus location: The school sits on 9 acres, in a residential neighborhood less than a mile from the ocean and two miles from downtown Boca Raton, FL.
Admission: Students applying to Grandview are required to fill out an application, participate in an interview, and complete an academic assessment.
Faculty: More than 50% of the 34 faculty members hold advanced degrees.
Classroom Environment: The average class size is 12 students. The student teacher ratio is approximately 8:1.
Curriculum: Grandview’s college preparatory program offers Honors courses, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and dual enrollment opportunities with Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College.
Activities: A multitude of exciting activities for all grade levels are available including clubs, honor societies, student government, performing arts, and interscholastic athletics.
Community Service: All Grandview students participate in community service activities on a regular basis. Volunteer efforts include fundraisers, food drives, and community service projects.
College Admission: A sample of the universities to which Grandview graduates have attended from 2000-2010 includes Cornell University, Smith College, Georgetown University, New York University, University of Florida, University of New Hampshire, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of Colorado, University of Rochester, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Miami, School of Visual Arts, Florida Atlantic Honors College, and Boston University.
