The House system at Grandview serves as a vessel to bridge the “gap” between the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. The Houses create a camaraderie amongst the student body facilitating an environment in which students and faculty can build relationships and form long lasting friendships.
Students in first through twelfth grade are assigned to one of the four designated Houses: Purple, Green, Yellow, and Orange. The House assignments remain throughout the student's academic career at Grandview.
Each month, students participate in competitions and community service activities with their House. In the 2011-2012 school year, House activities included the following community service organizations:
-
Boca Helping Hands
-
American Cancer Society
-
Forgotten Soldiers
-
Exceptional Student Education Department of J.C. Mitchell Elementary
-
Tri-County Humane Society
-
Project Linus
