YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS HERE.

Why choose Grandview?
Here's what sets us apart from the rest...

Community

  • Each month, our students join others across grade levels from preschool to 12th grade within four “houses” to complete service initiatives which model our Creed in action. We have made blankets, planted seeds, written cards and made care packages for soldiers, and made pet beds for the Tri-County Humane Society. Click here to see more about our House Program.

  • Every year since 1999, Grandview has hosted a holiday party for special needs students at J.C. Mitchell. Our students work like busy holiday elves to bring joy in the form of fun, food, and friendship to our visiting buddies. Due to the expenses and necessary support to transport the students from the special needs program, it is the only field trip they have each year. This gift from our community to theirs is returned a thousand times in hugs of gratitude and lasting friendships!

  • GPS Students and Teachers were interviewed for Good Morning America after organizing a drive to send supplies and letters to soldiers in Iraq shortly after the war began. To this day, we continue to send words of encouragement through holiday letters, supplies, and phone cards so soldiers can hear the voice of loved ones while overseas.

Academics

  • When Grandview opened, it was the first school in the area to have the Internet in all its classes! Years later, we were the first to transition to all-cloud computing and implement collaborative web-based tools as part of our curriculum. Our students don’t just use the standard word, excel, powerpoint suite. They use a whole world of Apps, from collaborative publishing software to online filing and sharing...and in the cloud of course!

  • Our Head of School, Jackie Westerfield, has served as one of a small group of school leaders on the Florida Council of Independent Schools Board and on the Board for the Florida Kindergarten Council.

  • We are the creators of a College Prep course which familiarizes students with the different college options, application process and requirements, and college life. Our Director of College Counseling was asked to present this course along with other elements of our personalized college counseling program at the regional SACAC conference.

Arts

  • In our short life as a school, we have had 17 acceptances into state and national choirs, and our choral students regularly participate in local honor choir events and festivals. We have had acceptances to LaGuardia Arts High School in New York City and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

  • In 2003 an art student’s work was selected in the Congressional Art Competition to hang in the walkway between the Cannon House Building and the United States Capitol for one year.  Our students still participate in this competition yearly.

  • Graduates of Grandview have gone on for further education and careers in the visual arts. Students have attended Savannah College of Art and Design, The School of Visual Arts, Rochester Institute of Technology, Ringling School of Art, and University of Miami.

  • Each year the Upper School has two Exhibits. The Senior Art Exhibit is a culmination of individuals work displayed in a series of One Person Shows.

Athletics

  • Grandview is consistently ranked by the state and county as the #1 athletics program for Class 2A schools.

  • Grandview athletics boasts some of the area's top coaches with numerous Coach of the Year selections in Palm Beach County and the state of Florida.

  • Varsity Swim Coach Kathleen Prindle is a former coach of Olympians.

  • Pride Athletics consistently makes state final four appearances in girls and boys basketball, swimming and softball, and holds state championship titles in softball (2012), girls basketball (2014 and 2017) and boys basketball (2013 and 2016).

  • Grandview varsity boys basketball boasts two state championship titles (2013 and 2016).

  • We have placed several athletes in NCAA Division I, II, and III programs.

  • One of our baseball alumni signed with the New York Yankees after playing college baseball at University of Virginia.
