More Opportunities for Learning
The day doesn't have to end at 3:00! Grandview offers a variety of classes afterschool for Lower School students to explore new experiences and/or provide additional time in areas they are demonstrating interest in. Lower school students have the opportunity to explore new interests and build upon existing passions even after the school day ends. Specialized activities, academic advancement, and a safe childcare environment are offered to our families after the regular school day ends.
One-on-one or small group instruction can be scheduled afterschool. More information about Academic Advancement can be found here [click link].
Childcare is available from 3:00-5:30 for students in Early Childhood through 5th grade.
Students express themselves while creating dolls, animals, jewelry, and other crafts utilizing clay, paper, and fabric.
Girl Scouts helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. Grandview's Southeast Florida Troop meets bi-monthly on Wednesdays and is headed up by dedicated parent volunteers.
Students learn and practice the moral code of judo - respect, modesty, courage, honesty, courtesy, friendship, and self control.
Students learn design and engineering - how to ask questions, observe, and gather information about an object or tool to change or improve. Then, develop a simple sketch, drawing or physical model to solve the problem. If time allows, students will generate and compare multiple solutions to the problem to meet the criteria and constraints given.
